About this Entry
1. Check out this rather wonderful Leroux Erik plush toy (designed and created by a pair of fans). They're making a limited run of 250, and they're taking orders now, $24. (Not my site, I get no money from it, just want to recommend.) http://www.sixpoint.us/erikindex.html

2. I thought I should take advantage of my search engine rankings to stick up a page about the Phantom of the Opera sequel. It could use some quotes from fans, though, so if you'd like to make a comment summing up why the sequel is a bad idea, please leave them here along with whatever you'd like to be credited as (preferably first name and state or country). Thanks!

Here's my comment as to why the sequel is a bad idea:

The Phantom dies at the end of the first story. And, regardless of your beliefs on that matter, the fact is, the beauty of the story comes from his sacrifice (his redemption) when he lets Christine leave with Raoul. For The Phantom to now lure Christine to Coney Island, his entire redemption and sacrifice is erased. The Phantom really becomes a monster, after all. Not to mention, the sequel is being based on the novel PHANTOM OF MANHATTAN, which was a terrible book. I read it three times, trying to make myself like it, but it was hopeless. Indeed, according to PHANTOM OF MANHATTAN's plotline, The Phantom is essentially a rapist, if you look at some of Christine's remarks in the book. The Phantom may be a murderer and a kidnapper, but I REJECT the idea that he would ever actually rape Christine.

If you'd like to quote me on any of this (LOL), you can credit the quote to: Kelly Jacqueline, Ohio USA.
